![]() ![]() The weak point of the tuner is the FM performance. The quality of sound is clean and clear with no background noise that I can determine. It can even connect to NOAA weather radio. Using the Grace Internet tuner has been a very nice experience and my tuners have a number of internet stations from all over the world in memory, plus the tuner has access to subscriber based streaming services such as Pandora, which I use, and other services such as Sirius. There is a rear on/off switch that fully can turn off the unit. When you turn it off, it goes into a standby mode with a red diode indicating it is in standby. Once you do this, you do not have to re-enter the password when the device is turned on. Since my personal network is password protected, I used the front dial to input the password and access the network. In my study, I had it connected to my Yamaha A-S500 integrated amplifier's tuner input using the RCA jacks. ![]() When the tuner is first turned on it will automatically search for a usable internet connection, and it was sensitive enough to find my neighbors internet connections in addition to my personal network. Grace Digital uses their own web site, Reciva, to allow you to program your listening choices by using your home computer, and there is a remote that comes with the unit that lets you use the memory function. The unit also has FM ability and there is a European PAL type push on FM antenna connector. The rear of the tuner has a small wi/fi antenna for wireless network reception, an ethernet jack for a wired connection, a coaxial digital output connector, an optical digital output connector and a pair of standard RCA connectors for analog connection. ![]() The model 200 tuner uses a selector dial that you operate by rotating to bring menu choices into view and when you see the choice you want, you press the dial inward to choose that selection. There is a third Grace unit, a stand-alone radio in my bedroom, that has speaker connectors in addition to the internal speaker for a mini system. At this point I have two model 200 tuners, one is in my living room system and the other is in my study system. It had no internal speaker and was very similar in size to the digital FM tuners and came with RCA jacks for connecting it to a receiver or Amplifier's line inputs. When Grace Digital introduced the model 200 tuner, I really wanted it because it was proportioned as a component and designed as a tuner. I still have that unit and use it as a mobile radio for listening to the Internet when I am out on our deck. It had a built-in speaker and a mini-plug adaptor so you could connect it to an external amplifier and use it in your stereo system. My first internet capable radio was a Grace Digital radio with wi/fi ability about the size of a small desktop radio. To access these feeds, you need an Internet capable tuner or radio. On the other hand, internet radio has blossomed giving me access to stations all over the world, playing music that I enjoy. In my local area there are about four stations left that are worth listening to.
